Whenuapai School’s Libraries

Whenuapai School has a library on both of its campuses.

The Whenuapai School Library at the home campus is conveniently located in the centre of the school behind the astroturf court. It is open daily to class visits and available to students during their breaks on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Rostered Year 4 student librarians look after the library with support from Whaea Helen.

The newly opened Whenuapai Senior Campus Library is located in the centre of the new school in front of the astroturf court. It is open daily to class visits and available to students during their breaks. Rostered Year 5-8 student librarians look after the library, with support from Whaea Helen on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Our libraries are interesting and welcoming places where students can read, relax with friends, play games, play with the countdown bricks collection, and take part in other activities during the year. We are fortunate enough to be able to keep adding fabulous new books regularly throughout each year.

Books are on loan for a two-week period, with the ability to renew once. After a book has been overdue for one month, we seek assistance from whānau to help locate the book or to purchase/give a replacement.

Our annual Scholastic Book Fairs are always popular, and generate income from sales to enable us to purchase more library books and school resources.

The Library Manager is Helen Brinkman. Please feel free to pop in, or e-mail library@whenuapai.school.nz if you have any queries or concerns.
