Bus Information

There are two free bus routes that operate daily to and from school and cover the following routes:

• Bus #1 – Whenuapai Village: First pick-up at 61 Totara Road, Waimarie Road, Punga Road, Karaka Road, Totara Road (Repeat), Puriri Road and on to Herald Island: Kingsway Road, Ferry Parade, The Terrace and will then make its last pickup/drop off at 101 Kauri Road.
• Bus #2 – Massey-Redhills: 88 Fred Taylor Drive (Opposite Queen Bee) and 154 Fred Taylor Drive.  

The Ministry of Education criteria for eligibility for school transport is that students attending Year 1 – 8 schools must live at least 3.2 km from the school (over the shortest public road or pedestrian route from the home roadside gate to the school’s front gate). All bus pupils must fill in a Bus Code of Conduct and follow the rules to avoid losing their rights to use the bus service.

Before the start of each school term, a post will be placed on HERO which will enable you to book your child onto the school bus for that term. Please note:  To ensure the safety of all students we will only allow a child to travel if we have received caregiver permission for that day(s).

Parents/Caregivers should alert the office of any changes to their children’s daily bus travel (afternoon only) using this form, emailing office@whenuapai.school.co.nz or calling 09 416 8779.  Any changes need to be made prior to 2.30pm, so information can be gathered as to who is catching the bus that day.
